DIA “Kuzbass” is ahead of time

laquo;Standart Kachestva» («Quality Standard») Magazine, May, 2010 laquo;Kuzbass» Diversified Industrial Association, «DIA «Kuzbass», is a management company incorporating three industrial holdings: Coal holding («Zarechnaya» mining Co ltd), Machine-building holding («Yurmash-holding» ) and Agroengineering holding («Zarechye» corporate farm). Consumers of the of association products are more than 10 countries, including Great Britain, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Korea, Ukraine, Finland, and Japan.
The basic areas of the company business include extraction and processing of coal, engineering products, grain, potatoes, meat and high-quality foodstuff.
«Zarechnaya» mining Co ltd comprises three mines: "«Zarechnaya Mine», «Alexyevskaya Mine», which is being under renewal, «Karagaylinskoye Mine Management Office» Co ltd , which is now under construction, and «Sputnik» concentrating mill. Available highly productive equipment, resort to modern technologies, development of in-house logistical infrastructure at the enterprises of the coal holding allow them to provide a stable growth of coal extraction volume and labour productivity, steady improvement of the quality of the products, efficiency of marketing policy, and safety of production.
«Zarechnaya» mining Co ltd today is a modern mining company with a planned annual coal extraction volume equal to 6,5 mln. tons and 3,5 thousand employees. It provides the largest amount of coal extraction among other mines, having extracted over 5 mln. tons last year. «Alexyevskaya Mine» is reaching the amount of 1,5 mln. coal extraction this year. «Karagaylinskoye Mine Management Office» Co ltd when constructed and put into operation, will provide the amount of 1,5 mln. tons and will further increase this amount to 2 mln. tons of coal a year.
The production capacity of «Sputnik» concentrating mill today equals to 5 mln. tons of processing raw coal into high quality concentrate. A renovation of the concentrating mill planned for 2010 will make it possible to increase the capacity of extraction to 6 mln. tons a year.
The priority guideline of the company development is deep processing of coal using the newest technologies, which ensures ecological safety of the region and raising cost efficiency of the association companies. In 2010 the company launches a pilot project to establish «Seraphimovsky» energotechnological complex to deep process coal. The factory of synthetic motor fuel processing which will be constructed within the framework of this project has no analogs in home industry. When equipping the mines, in-house mining and industrial equipment produced by the companies of the machine-building holding (Europe integrated group «Yurmash-Holding» Open Joint-stock Company, which includes machine building plants «Urga», Russia, «T machinery a.s.», Czech Republic, and «Esser», Germany), will be relied on. The quality of the products, which are competitive on the world market, will be the major production factor. The main products of the machine building holding include breakthrough mining equipment for mining companies, a variety of load-lifting machines, metallurgical products, high quality power hydraulics, thermal energy and electric power. The number of employees at the machine-building plants amounts to 6 thousand.
«YURMASH» Open Joint-stock Company («URGA») is an engineering complex with a complete production cycle. The uniqueness of the company is in its diversified production lines ranging from steel melting to producing sophisticated mining and lifting equipment. The plant produces powered roof supports and other mining equipment for various mining and geological conditions in series. This equipment has been used to extract over 200 mln. tons in mines and open cuts of the former Soviet republics mining area. Altogether over 60 powered roof supports, 40 longwall shearers, 40 conveyors and stageloaders, crushers of lump coal have been produced. In 2009 КПЮ-50 heading machine was manufactured and delivered to «Zarechnaya» mining Co ltd for industrial test. Launching the production of belt conveyors is planned for the future.
«T Machinery a.s.», Czech Republic, is one of the leading European producers of mining equipment, including powered roof supports, longwall shearers, armored conveyors, longwall face conveyors, frequency convertors and control stations for electric drives of production face mining equipment. The machines madу by Т Machinery are operational in the CIS countries, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam and China. ESSER machine building plant specializes in producing high quality power hydraulics for mining equipment, mainly for the powered roof supports produced by «Yurmash-holding. The plant applies cutting-edge technologies (Duvo — plast polymeric coverings, deposition of corrosion-resistant coatings with further induction hardening, stainless steel facing), which ensures high corrosion and impact resistance of surfaces and their durability. The company has expertise in producing hydraulic legs and hydraulic jacks for powered roof supports of leading European producers. The plant’s capacities in producing high quality hydraulics can successfully be used in a number of other industries including aircraft, oil and other ones. The agro industrial complex of DIA «Kuzbass» comprises two agricultural associations, «Zarechye» and «Yurginsky», specializing in milk and meat production and crop growing, and «Yurginsky» diary producing milk products. The number of employees of the agro industrial complex amounts to 1200 people.
The first stage of the modern cattle breeding complex for 600 livestock heads was put into operation in 2008. It is a free stall barn diary farm with a milking room equipped with «Westfalia serg» machines. It is planned to construct the second stage of the dairy unit for 600 heads and a new milking and diary complex for 1200 heads.
A pig breeding complex for 1500 heads has been constructed, reconstruction works in cattle houses, granaries and dining halls have been completed. Construction of a modern granary of 6 thousand tons grain capacity and some other objects is being completed. There is a plan to build a meat-processing workshop and a sausage manufacturing room. Today the companies of the agro industrial complex are equipped with home and foreign made machinery, such as «Don», «Klaas Mega», «Yuaguar» grain harvesters, «Konkord» and «Kuzbass» seeders, «Labrador» mixers, «Meiner» swathers, etc.
An important field of DIA «Kuzbass» activity is active social policy based on the permanent concern about the employees and their families and the population of Kuzbass in general. This concern goes alongside with realizing social security programs, support of national priority projects, charity and revival of spirituality in the region. The company is involved in erecting churches and domestic houses building, it supports foster homes, orphanages and schools, as well as large families, retired employees and other people in need. The charity is done under the auspices of DIA «Kuzbass» and the jurisdiction of «Zarechnaya» coal mine.
